PEARL, Miss. - In a dominant pitching performance and a showcase of timely execution both at the plate and in the field, the Belhaven Baseball team shut out the Huntingdon Hawks 2–0 on Senior Night at Trustmark Park, improving their record to 22-10 and 9-4 in league play.
Belhaven starter Kade May delivered a complete game gem, scattering nine hits across nine innings without allowing a walk or run. He struck out six and silenced the Hawks' bats whenever they began to threaten, earning his fifth win of the season to move to 5-1.
The Blazers capitalized on key Huntingdon miscues early. In the second inning, Hunter Harrell singled and stole second before coming around to score on an error by the Hawks' third baseman following a infield single by Hayden Roberts. The Green and Gold added a second run in the third when Dathan Cummings, who was hit by a pitch, advanced to third on a Tristan Pearson single and scored on a sacrifice fly from Blake McCarthy.
Offensively, Belhaven collected six hits, led by Harrell's 2-for-4 night hat included two stolen bases and a run scored. Roberts also notched two hits. Pearson reached base multiple times and added a stolen base of his own.
