PEARL, Miss. - The Belhaven Baseball team picked up a series win over LeTourneau on Saturday as they grabbed a dominant 16-2 win over the YellowJackets in the third game of the three-game set.
The Blazers got off to a hot start, answering LeTourneau's run in the top half of the first with a four-run frame of their own. The first four Blazers of the inning recorded a base hit sparking the big inning which would give Belhaven the lead.
Colton Sylvester would keep the YellowJackets in check before getting more run support from the Belhaven offense who tacked on a pair of runs in the fifth with runs driven in by
Hayden Roberts and
Parker Ryan.
Belhaven broke the game open in the sixth as they poured on seven runs to what was already a 6-2 lead with big hits coming from
Tristan Pearson and
JD Weed who delivered back to back two RBI hits in the inning.
The Blazers would grab another run in the seventh and two in the eighth to seal the victory and a second straight weekend series win.
