PEARL – Belhaven (5-3) showcased an explosive offensive performance to secure a commanding 12-2 victory over MUW at Trustmark Park on Tuesday night.

The Blazers wasted no time taking control, scoring in each of the first four innings to build an insurmountable lead. After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first, Belhaven responded immediately with two runs in the bottom half, fueled by a back-to-back sacrifice flies from Cole Fletcher and Hunter Harrell.

Belhaven's offense continued to roll, adding two more in the second, four in the third, and another four-run surge in the fourth. JD Weed's two-RBI single in the second set the tone, while Blake McCarthy and Austin Canale contributed key hits in the third. Canale finished with a strong showing at the plate, driving in three runs.

On the mound, Cole Burton (1-0) earned the win with three innings of work, allowing just one run while striking out three. The Blazers' bullpen maintained control, with six relievers combining to limit MUW to just two runs on six hits.

Belhaven hits the road for a three-game set at Berry College this weekend. First pitch on Friday is set for 2:00 PM CT.
