ATLANTA, Ga. - Belhaven Men's Basketball freshman guard
Braylon Dame (Moulton, Ala.) picked up his first collegiate weekly honor on Monday, earning CCS Rookie of the Week after a strong two-game stretch for the Blazers.
Dame put together one of the best outings of the week in Belhaven's win over Southeastern Baptist. He came off the bench and gave the Blazers 22 points, hitting eight shots from the field and knocking down four threes while adding a pair of steals and a rebound.
He followed that with 15 points at LeTourneau, knocking down two more threes and grabbing three rebounds in his first start of the season . Dame played 22 minutes and continued to give Belhaven steady offense on an afternoon when the Blazers needed a spark.
Through the opening week of the year, Dame has been one of the team's most consistent newcomers, and Monday's award gives Belhaven its first CCS weekly recognition of the season.
The Blazers are back in action tomorrow when they head to cross-town rival Millsaps. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
