JACKSON — The Belhaven Men's Soccer team suffered their first home defeat in almost a year, falling 2-1 to Mary Hardin-Baylor at Belhaven Bowl Stadium on Thursday night.
The Blazers (5-3-3) got off to a dream start just 63 seconds into the match when Avery Anders finished a cross from Adrian Sanchez to give the team a 1-0 lead. In the waning minutes of the first half, Mary Hardin-Baylor (8-1-2) responded with a goal to level the match heading into halftime. The visitors scored once more in the 53rd minute to take the lead for good.
Anders led the team with four shots while Danny Bahena had six saves.
The Blazers Men's Soccer team returns to action at the Bowl on Saturday vs. Maryville for Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM.
