WILMORE, Ky. – The Belhaven Men's Soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw on the road against Asbury University on Saturday afternoon at Asbury Soccer Field.
The Blazers controlled much of the match, outshooting Asbury 16-6 with eight shots on goal but couldn't find the back of the net. Goalkeeper
Danny Bahena and the Belhaven defense were solid again, earning their fourth shutout of the season while holding the Eagles to just one shot on target.
Avery Anders led the Blazers with four shots, while
Matt Smith and
Louie Richard each added one on goal. With the result, Belhaven moves to 7-3-4 overall and 2-0-2 in conference play, remaining unbeaten in their last six matches.
Next up for the Blazers is a return to the Belhaven Bowl Stadium for a non-conference matchup against Tougaloo on Tuesday before hosting Hardin-Simmons on Wednesday. Kickoff against the Bulldogs is set for 6:30 PM.
