Blazers Score Five in Rout of Berea

MT. BERRY, Ga. - The Belhaven Men's Soccer team picked up a dominant 5-0 victory on Saturday as they took on Berea (Ky.) in a neutral site match hosted by Berry College.

The Blazers got off to a strong start in the match as Igor Rudolph deflected a loose Berea pass into the bottom corner for his first goal of the season. Rudolph's goal came in 27th minute of the match and it would not take long for Belhaven to double the lead as Wesley Bloodworth grabbed his second goal of the year in 28th minute with an assist from Courtland Williams.

Up 2-0 at the break, the Blazers continued their control of the match before extending the lead in the 74th on a finish from Wyatt Dupre with an assist from Devin Ryan. Samuel Hadley would grab his first goal for the Blazers in the 83rd minute and CJ Koppeis finished the match off with an 89th minute goal, his first of the season.

It was a dominant display for the Blazers who move to 3-0-2 on the year and remain unbeaten in the early season. Belhaven has been stout defensively as well so far this year with four straight clean sheets on their ledger. Goalkeeper Danny Bahena and the Belhaven backline have gone 440 minutes since they last conceded a goal which came in the 9th minute of a 3-1 victory over No. 20 Emory.

It will be a quick turnaround for the Blazers as they take on Berry tomorrow at Berry. Kickoff against the Vikings is set for 2:00 PM.
