JACKSON - The Belhaven Volleyball team returns to action this week on September 13th and 14th as the Blazers travel Friday to Millsaps for the Millsaps Invitational. The Blazers will take on the Majors to start on Friday evening before a pair of matches on Saturday against McMurry and Austin College.

The Blazers are determined to bounce back as they come home to Jackson, after falling last weekend to MUW on the road. The Blazers travel down Riverside Drive on Friday at 7:00 PM to face the Majors who sit at (7-1) with Belhaven looking for their first win over the Majors since 2017.

Belhaven will also take McMurry University and Austin College at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM on Saturday. The Lady Warhawks come in at (3-2), while the Lady Roos come in at (3-5). The Blazers also look to find their first victory since 2017 against McMurry and searching for their first win against Austin College.

On the year, the Blazers are led by Megan LaCour who has a team-high 25 kills while Heidi Sheikho has racked up 20 total kills. Aniyah Tompkins leads the team with 56 assists and Miriam Ateca follows closely with 37 assists. Defensively, Jade De La Torre and Megan LaCour each have racked up 25 digs with Cami Davis' 5.0 blocks tops on the team.

For the Majors on Friday, Anna Capezzara will be one to watch as she leads the team with 110 kills across 28 sets. Zoe Elder has also provided a team-leading 239 assists for Millsaps on the year.

McMurry features a dynamic defensive duo in Rylie Patterson and Addyson Tiffin who both have crossed the double digit blocks threshold already this season while Laynie Kovacs of Austin College has an impressive 141 digs on the year.
