PEARL, Miss.- The Belhaven Baseball team took down Berea in the opener of their final conference series on Friday night by a 6-0 shutout scoreline.
On a night in which eight seniors were honored, the Blazers took care of business in dominant fashion. The Blazers' bats began to heat up in the second inning with an RBI double by
Eli Britt that drove in two runs to give the Blazers the early lead. The Blazers began to run away from the Mountaineers as
Tristan Pearson reached home on an throwing error by the visitors that was followed by a
Cole Fletcher solo homer to left field.
The Blazers would drive in two more insurance runs to grab a 6-0 lead heading into the final frames.
Brett Sanchez was at his best on the mound for the Blazers, holding the visitors scoreless throughout the night. In eight innings of work, Sanchez allowed five hits, giving up no runs as well as recording 10 strikeouts. The Blazers capped off senior day with a dominant 6-0 victory.

The Blazers will look to take the series win in a doubleheader tomorrow at Frierson Field in Clinton, Mississippi to wrap up conference play with hope still on winning the CCS regular season title. First pitch for game one is set at 1:00 PM with game two to follow shortly after.
