ATLANTA, Ga. -
Kennedy Carruth was named the Softball Pitcher of the Week by the Collegiate Conference of the South for the seventh time this season as announced by the league on Monday.
Carruth continued her dominance in the circle in a pair of starts over the past week. In Tuesday's Game 1 win over Millsaps, The right-hander went 4.0 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out seven. Carruth celebrated Senior Day in style on Saturday, striking out eight in 4.0 perfect innings in the circle to lead Belhaven past Berea in the opener. Carruth also showcased her ability with the bat by going 6-for-11 with five doubles, five RBIs, and three runs scored in four games.
On the season, Carruth boasts a 19-1 record with an eye-opening 0.54 ERA in 130.0 innings pitched. The St. Francisville, Louisiana native finishes the regular season as the nation's leader in strikeouts with 169 and ranks in the Top-10 in both ERA and complete games.
Carruth and the Blazers wrapped up the regular season with a 34-4 record and a No. 6 ranking nationally. The Blazers will begin postseason play with the Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament beginning on May 1st.
