Blazers Sweep Berea on Senior Day

JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Softball team wrapped up their regular season campaign in style this weekend as they took down Berea twice in run-rule fashion on Senior Day. The Blazers beat the Mountaineers 9-0 in five innings in the first game of this weekend's doubleheader before taking the second half of the day 14-0 in five innings.

GAME ONE

Belhaven got off to a fast start in the opener, scoring four times in the home half of the 1st including two on an RBI single from Madison Miller. After the early outburst, the Blazers were held scoreless in the 2nd and 3rd innings but Kennedy Carruth's shutout effort in the circle kept Belhaven in front.

The Blazers would put the game away in the 4th as they plated five runs which was aided by a string of four RBI doubles with Allie Gordon, Kennedy Carruth, Katie Jo Richardson and Natalie Parker all contributing. Belle West was called on to close out the game in the 5th and got through unscathed as she and Carruth combined for a no-hitter.
