MARYVILLE, Tenn.- The Belhaven Softball Team grabbed a crucial doubleheader victory against Maryville Saturday afternoon. 
GAME ONE
The hosts would get on the boards early with an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead in the first. Unfazed, the Blazers responded in the next inning with an 
Ellie Jones solo home run to even the score.
The Blazers' bats stayed hot as 
Allie Gordon homered in the following inning to take the lead. The Blazers would tally on three more runs thanks to back to back RBI's from 
Natalie Parker and 
Anna Caime to put the game out of reach for the Scots. 
Kennedy Carruth was once again spectacular in the circle for the Blazers, giving up just one run on two hits and five strikeouts to help secure a 5-1 victory.

GAME TWO
The Blazers offense showed no signs of slowing down in game two as 
Allie Gordon launched a two run homer in inning two for her second home run of the day. Gordon would once again connect for another homer in the fifth to give the Blazers a 3-0 lead.
Mary Moore Widemire would cap off the Blazers offense with an RBI single that drove in two runs to give the Blazers the 5-0 advantage. The Blazers played a stout brand of defense, allowing just two hits on no runs to claim the shutout victory.

The Blazers will return to McLeod Field as they face Millsaps in a doubleheader this upcoming Tuesday in the Riverside Rivalry.
