JACKSON, Miss.- Anna Caime of the Belhaven Softball team and Abraham Gonzalez of the Belhaven Men's Tennis team were named C Spire Athletes of the Week for their outstanding play from this past week. 

Caime was very effective for the Blazers from this past week. Caime went 5-for-5 with 9 RBI to help lead the Blazers to wins over Millsaps, Covenant, and Birmingham-Southern. The junior has been a key part of the Blazers offense, hitting .386 with 22 hits, four doubles, and 17 RBI to help contribute to the Blazers stellar season. 

Gonzalez was instrumental in helping the Blazers grab their third straight conference win over Berea. Gonzalez helped lead the Blazers to a dominating doubles victory and cruised to a victory in the top singles match. The Morelia, Mexico native has had a spectacular senior season as he has been part of one of the top doubles team in the CCS as well as having several quality wins in the singles department. 

Caime and the Blazers softball team will take on LaGrange in a double header in Jackson on Thursday. Game one will begin at 5:00 PM, with game two to follow shortly after. 

Gonzalez will be among those honored for the Blazers senior day as they face Huntingdon on Thursday. Match times will begin at noon.
