DECATUR, Ga. - The Belhaven Softball team stayed unbeaten in conference play as they swept their doubleheader against CCS foe Agnes Scott on Saturday.
GAME ONE
The Blazers took game one of the doubleheader 7-0 behind a shutout from
Kennedy Carruth in the circle and consistent offense throughout the lineup. Carruth, who got the win and improved to 10-1 on the season, helped her own cause in the first inning with a solo home run to give the Blazers an early lead.
After being held scoreless in the 2nd and 3rd innings, the Blazers added three runs to their lead in the 4th frame. The Blazers tacked on one more run in the 5th and sealed the win with a pair of runs in the 7th including one on a solo homer from
Allie Gordon, her third home run in as many CCS games.

GAME TWO
The Blazers moved to 4-0 in conference play with a 10-2 win over the Scotties in the second game of the weekend doubleheader. Belhaven jumped out to a large, early lead over Agnes Scott with four runs in the bottom of the 1st with
Allie Gordon,
Ellie Jones and
Mary Moore Widemire all driving in runs.Â
The Blazers then added two more runs in the 2nd inning including a run on an RBI triple from
Madi Miller who came around to score in the same inning. Both teams grabbed a run in the 5th but a three-run top of the 7th put the game away for Belhaven who moves to 18-3 on the season.

Belhaven will be back in action on Wednesday, March 20th as they take on Millsaps in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch against the Majors is set for 4:00 PM.
