MACON, Ga. - The Belhaven Softball Team dominated in their doubleheader against Wesleyan to open up conference play on a strong note.
GAME ONE
The Blazers got on the boards quickly as
Allie Gordon launched a two run homer to center field to give Belhaven the lead early.
Wesleyan responded with a solo homer to cut the lead down to one in the bottom of the first, but the Blazer bats caught fire in the following inning, scoring four runs to break the lead open. The Blazers offense did not stop as
Madi Miller,
Allie Gordon, and
Kennedy Carruth hit RBI singles to extend the Blazers lead to nine. Belhaven would close out the game in five innings by a final score of 10-1.

GAME TWO
After a quiet first inning, the Blazers exploded for a nine-run second inning. After the Blazers got on the board with two runs,
Allie Gordon launched her second home run of the day with a three-run shot to center field.
Katie Jo Richardson would add on with a homer of her own that drove in two.
Sarah Stockstill would add on extra insurance with an RBI triple to give the Blazers a 9-0 run after two. The Blazers picked up two more runs in the fourth to extend their lead.
Macy Funderburk, was a force in the circle for the Blazers, recording ten strikeouts on the day to help deliver Belhaven the 11-0 victory in five innings.

The Blazers will return to play on Saturday, March 16 as travel to face Agnes Scott in another CCS doubleheader. Game one will begin at 12:00 PM with game two to follow.
