JACKSON, Miss. - Kennedy Carruth of the Belhaven Softball team and Will Justice of the Belhaven Golf team were named the C Spire Athletes of the Week for their performances from this past week. 

Carruth put forth another dominant week in the circle and at the plate for the nationally-ranked Blazers. In a 4-0 week, Carruth went 3-0 in the circle with 28 strikeouts, four earned runs, and just one walk in 17.0 innings of work, including two complete games. At the plate, the St. Francisville, La. native went 9-for-14 with two doubles, a home run, and five RBIs. 

Justice led Belhaven to a 6th-place finish and T-9th place individually at the FST Invitational at the beginning of the week. The Carrollton, Texas product performed well in his home state, firing an opening-round 75 (+3) to get the tournament started. Justice carded a team-best 71 (-1) in the second round before wrapping up the event with a 75 (+3) in the final round. 

Carruth and the 12th-ranked Blazers return to action on Saturday to take on Agnes Scott. First pitch against the Scotties is set for 12:00 PM.

Justice and his teammates hit the course on Monday and Tuesday of next week in the Hal Sutton Invitational.
