JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Men's and Women's Tennis teams fell in their matches to East Central Community College on Thursday as they continue their early spring non-conference matches.
WOMEN
The Women fell 7-0 to East Central on the day, in what was a tough afternoon for the Blazers taking on a stout Juco program.
Lillian Williams finished the day with a back and forth match in which she was just edged out by her East Central opposition 8-5.Â
MEN
The Belhaven Men lost 2-7 to ECCC in their Thursday matches.
Abraham Gonzalez and
Justin Humphrey continued their strong start in doubles play as they once again picked up victory in the top doubles match.
Mark Matviiev picked up the lone singles' victory for the Blazers on the day as he took down his competition 8-4.
Both teams return to action on Saturday for a busy day in which they host Maryville in CCS action at 10:00 AM before facing Co-Lin CC at 2:30 PM that afternoon. Both sets of matches are set at Parham Bridges Tennis Center.
