MOUNT BERRY, Ga.- The Belhaven Baseball Team notched a solid victory against Oglethorpe on the opening day of the Berry Invitational 5-1. 

After solid innings from Will Swift, the Blazers got on the board in the third inning thanks to a two-run homer by Tristan Pearson. Will Swift continued to display consistency on the mound as the Meridian, Mississippi native threw five scoreless innings and five strikeouts on the day.

The Blazers managed to pour more runs in the sixth as well as the seventh with Cole Fletcher stealing home. Fletcher would capitalize in the ninth with an RBI single to give the Blazers more insurance. The visitors managed to get a run in the bottom of the ninth, but Brett Sanchez would go on to close out the rest of the game and seal the Blazers impressive victory.

The Blazers will be back at it again tomorrow, March 1st as they face Berry in Day Two of the weekend. First pitch will begin at 3:00 PM.
