JACKSON - The Belhaven Volleyball team fell 3-0 to Millsaps in Friday's regular season finale at Rugg Arena.
The opening set saw the visitors jump out to an early lead, taking control quickly. Millsaps led the set 18-8 late on and would pull away for the 25-14 set victory.
In the second set, Belhaven would take the early lead with a 5-1 advantage after six points. A back and forth set battle would continue and the Blazers led 23-21 late before a Millsaps run saw the Majors take the win.
The third and final set followed a similar script with Belhaven once again taking control early on. Millsaps battled back in the middle points but a five point run saw the Blazers take an 18-14 lead. The visitors once again would rally though and come away with the victory.
Megan LaCour led the way for the Belhaven attack on the day with eight kills while
Jade De La Torre finished with 17 digs. Senior
Emma Gardner, who was recognized in front of the home crowd before the match, finished with five kills and five digs.Â
The Blazers will now turn their attention to the CCS Tournament with Belhaven set to host Huntingdon in the Quarterfinals on Tuesday at 5:00 PM.
