JACKSON - The No. 4 seed Belhaven Volleyball team will take on the 5th-seeded Huntingdon Hawks on Tuesday night inside Rugg Arena. First serve is set for 5:00 PM.
The Blazers finished the regular season with a 10-6 record in league play to finish fourth and earn a hosting spot in the opening round of the CCS Tournament. Huntingdon ended the regular season a game behind Belhaven at 9-7 in CCS action to secure the No. 5 seed.
The two teams battled to a regular season split with each team winning their respective home matches. Belhaven picked up a 3-1 win over the Hawks in Jackson back on October 8th, while Huntingdon won in straight sets in Montgomery on October 30th.
Megan LaCour was stellar in the regular season for the Blazers, leading the way with 231 kills.
Kayla Robinson paced Belhaven in digs with 292, while
Aniyah Tompkins led the Green and Gold with 392 assists.
Rylee White ranked fourth in the league with a team-leading 54.0 blocks.
Miriam Ateca ended the regular season ranked eighth in service aces with 51.
Senior Izzy Valldeperas has been a constant for the Hawks this season as she leads the team with 272 kills to go along with 27 service aces. Fellow senior Ashlen Janowski has tallied 231 kills and 31 service aces in 2024, while freshman Morgan Suggs also eclipsed the 200-kill mark with 204.
