DECATUR, Ga. - The Belhaven Volleyball team earned a split in Saturday's tri-match hosted by Agnes Scott, falling in the opener to Asbury before taking down the hosts, 3-1. The Blazers moved to 5-1 in conference play following the weekend.
Game One vs. Asbury
The opening match of the day for the Blazers proved to be a tough one against conference newcomer Asbury. The Eagles jumped out to a 10-3 lead en route to a 25-14 Set One victory. Asbury once again took control early in the second set by scoring 11 of the first 12 points as they went on to win 25-9.
The Blazers continued to battle in the third, jumping out to a 6-3 lead early. Asbury flipped the script midway through the set with a 9-1 run to go up 15-9. Belhaven got back within one with a 5-0 run to cut things to 17-16, but the Eagles were able to hold on for a 25-21 set victory to take the match.
Megan LaCour led Belhaven with six kills and seven digs.
Game Two vs. Agnes Scott
Belhaven responded with a win in the final match in Decatur. The Blazers took the opening two sets over the Scotties to take control. Agnes Scott won the third set to stay alive, but Belhaven finished the match off with an impressive fourth set victory to pick up their fifth conference win of the season.

The Blazers will return home for a midweek CCS battle against Huntingdon on Wednesday night. First serve is set for 6:30 PM inside Rugg Arena.
