Blazers Take Down Agnes Scott in CCS Tri-Match Split

WILMORE, Ky. - The Belhaven Volleyball team picked up a conference tri-match split on Saturday as they took down Agnes Scott in straight sets despite falling to Asbury earlier on the day.

Belhaven took down the Scotties from Georgia in straight set fashion on Saturday to improve to 9-4 in conference play. The Blazers took the opening set 25-17 thanks to a five-point run that took the Belhaven lead from 19-16 to 24-16.

In the second set, Belhaven was dominant firing off an 8-1 start and extending the advantage to 14-2 quickly. Agnes Scott got the set within 10 points but a 5-0 run to close sealed the 25-10 set win for the Blazers.

The third set was a battle as Belhaven looked to close out the Scotties. Despite a strong first two sets, Agnes Scott led the Blazers for much of the third set and were up 18-16 late. Belhaven would dominate the closing stretch though and seal the victory with a 25-23 set win.

In the win over Agnes Scott, Rylee White led the Blazers with eight kills with Emma Gardner close behind at six. Heidi Sheikho also had a strong performance with five kills in the match.
