CONWAY, Ark. - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team fell to Hendrix, 2-1, on Wednesday night in Conway. The Blazers now sit at 10-5-1 heading into the regular season finale this weekend.
After a scoreless opening 45 minutes of play, Belhaven lit up the scoreboard first as
Nneka Udeh scored her sixth goal of the season in the 49th minute to put the Blazers up 1-0. The hosts responded with the equalizer just five minutes later.
The Warriors broke the 1-1 tie with a goal in the 68th minute. Belhaven had a couple of chances late but could draw level as the match ended in the 2-1 scoreline. Despite the loss, the Blazers outshot the Warriors, 14-9.
The Blazers will conclude the regular season on Saturday, October 26th against Covenant. Kickoff from the Belhaven Bowl Stadium is set for 4:30 PM.
