JACKSON - The Belhaven Volleyball team fell 3-0 on Tuesday to LeTourneau in a late-season non-conference bout.
The opening set was a close battle, particularly through the opening sets as the Blazers and YellowJackets were even at 15 midway through the set. A quick run by the visitors though saw them pull in front and the Blazers were unable to overturn the deficit.
LeTourneau would jump out to an early lead in the second set, taking the frame 25-15 and putting Belhaven on the brink. The Blazers would fall in similar fashion in the third set suffering just their second defeat in Rugg Arena this season.
Emma Gardner led the Blazers on the day with eight kills while
Rylee White added six kills of her own.
Miriam Ateca provided 19 assists on the night
Kayla Robinson,
Jade De La Torre and
Megan LaCour all finishing with double-digit digs.
Belhaven returns to action this weekend as they travel to Wilmore, Kentucky to take on Asbury and Agnes Scott in a CCS tri-match.Â
