JACKSON - The Belhaven Men's Soccer team shut out Piedmont on Saturday, 1-0, to pick up their third Collegiate Conference of the South victory of the season.
The Blazers struck first in the 11th minute as
Wesley Bloodworth beat the Lions' keeper off of a free kick to give Belhaven an early lead. Down the stretch,
Danny Bahena came up with two big saves to secure victory for the Green and Gold.
The Blazers outshot Piedmont, 12-7, and controlled the corner kick opportunities, 10-4. Belhaven now sits at 3-1-1 in league play with just one conference match remaining.
The Blazers return to action on Wednesday, October 23rd when they take on Millsaps in the Riverside Derby. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM. Belhaven will close the regular season out next Saturday against LaGrange inside Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
