JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Men's Soccer team earned a hard-fought draw against CCS opposition on Saturday as they ended scoreless against Maryville College at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
The Blazers got a quick start to the match as they took possession early and created the first shot on target in the match in just the 2nd match.
Jacob Requilman forced the Maryville goalkeeper into an early save which would prove to be the only shot on frame for the Blazers in the half.
Max Rudolph was called into action late on in the first half, making his first save on a long-range effort which the Blazers' veteran comfortably saved.Â
The second half was a bit more lively as the game opened up with both sides chasing an opening goal. Belhaven seemed the more likely threat in the second half but were unable to nail down clear cut chances with nine second half shots, but only two on target. In total, Belhaven out shot Maryville 12-4 overall and 3-2 in shots on target.Â
Belhaven returns to action on Tuesday, October 3rd as they host MUW in non-conference play at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium. Kickoff against MUW is set for 6:30 PM.
