MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team grabbed their second conference win in as many CCS matches on Wednesday as they took down Huntingdon on the road in Montgomery.
It was a dominant showing by the Blazers from the start as they took control with multiple shot attempts early before finding an opener in just the 10th minute through
Kyla Shaw. Shaw cut inside on her right foot and then beat the goalkeeper from outside the box with a dipping effort that snuck under the crossbar.
Belhaven continued the pressure in the first half but would not find another goal before the halfway point. The Blazers tallied 16 shots in the first half with eight efforts on target compared to just three total shots from the hosts.Â
The Blazers got their deserved second goal early in the second half when
Ally Davis found
Emma Antonoplos in the box on a well-timed run. The Blazers got their third and polished off the victory in the 68th minute when
Ally Davis grabbed another assist on a low cross finished at the back post by
Jenny Satcher.Â
Belhaven improves to 4-2-1 on the season and has now won three straight matches. The Blazers will face off against Piedmont on Saturday as CCS play continues. Kick off is set for 5:00 PM.
