ATLANTA, Ga. - Three Blazers earned All-Conference selections on Friday in the inaugural campaign of the Collegiate Conference of the South.
Judith Mills of the Women's Tennis team was named to the All-CCS First Team while also earning a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team. On the men's side,
Gaspar Meda and
Abraham Gonzalez were tabbed to the All-CCS First Team with Gonzalez being named to the All-Sportsmanship Team as well.
Mills put up a stellar senior season for the Blazers, posting a 10-2 singles record with another nine wins coming in doubles competition. Mills dropped just one CCS match this season as she led Belhaven to its most wins since 2017. Mills earns her second All-Conference award after being named the ASC East Division Newcomer of the Year in 2022.
Meda went 11-1 in No. 1 singles competition this season for Belhaven. The senior standout did not lose a match in the final two months of the season, winning 10 in a row to establish himself as the top player in the league. Meda was 7-0 in CCS singles competition. In doubles action, he earned five wins to give him 16 total wins in the 2023 campaign.
Gonzalez posted a 6-2 singles record for the Blazers in his first season with the program. The junior picked up another six victories in doubles matches alongside
Justin Humphrey. Gonzalez went 5-1 in CCS singles competition to help Belhaven to a third-place finish in conference play this season.
