JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Tennis teams each split their doubleheader matches against Piedmont and Berea on Saturday as both teams dropped their matchup against the Lions before bouncing back with impressive victories against the Mountaineers. The Belhaven Women fell to Piedmont 9-0 before bouncing back to take down Berea7-1 while the Men were beaten 7-2 before taking down Berea 9-0.

Women vs. Berea

The Blazers took down the Kentucky-based program 7-1 on Saturday finishing off their 2023 regular season campaign with a victory. Judith Mills and Evey Moore grabbed an 8-2 victory in the top doubles pairing while Lily Grace and Asia Robinson won their doubles matchup 8-0.

In Singles' play, Mills grabbed another victory as she won the top match-up 6-2, 6-1 while Evey Moore battled for a singles' win 6-4, 4-6 and 10-6. Lily Grace took her matchup 6-0, 6-1 as Lillian Williams took her singles pairing 6-2, 6-4. Asia Robinson picked up the final victory for the Blazers on the day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the #5 singles match. 

The Women finished 5th in the CCS regular season and will now face #4 Huntingdon in the first round of the conference tournament set tot take place in Rome, Ga. 

Men vs. Berea

On the Men's side of the action the Blazers cruised to a 9-0 win behind clean sweeps in singles and doubles play. Gaspar Meda and Bryce Livingston teamed up to take the top doubles matchup 8-2 while the other two doubles' matches were ruled in favor of the Blazers due to forfeits. 

Meda, who also won his singles match against Piedmont earlier in the day, took the top singles match 6-0, 6-0. Abraham Gonzalez also took his singles match against Piedmont and picked up another victory with 6-1, 6-0 set victories. 

Bryce Livingston grabbed the #3 matchup 6-4, 6-1 and the Blazers were awarded victories in the other three singles matches due to forfeits. 

The Blazers finish the regular season 3rd in the Collegiate Conference of the South and will take on #6 LaGrange in the first round of the conference tournament.
