MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Belhaven split their Friday doubleheader against Huntingdon College as they embarked on their first conference road trip of the season. The Blazers fell 3-1 to the Hawks in the opening game before bouncing back with a 4-1 win in the back end of the doubleheader.

GAME ONE

The first game of the doubleheader started off with a scoreless inning as Kennedy Carruth kept the Hawks off the board in the opening frame. Belhaven took the lead in the top half of the 2nd inning when Anna Caime tripled in a run with two outs.

Huntingdon responded in the bottom of the 3rd inning with a single run and then took the lead in the home half of the 4th with a two-run homer. Leading 3-1, the Hawks were able to hold the Belhaven bats at bay despite the Blazers threatening with runners in scoring position in the 5th and 6th innings.

GAME TWO

The second game started out in similar fashion to the first after both teams were held scoreless in the opening frame. Once again it was Belhaven who struck first as Macy Ziskin drove in a run on an RBI triple. Anna Caime then delivered the Blazers' second run of the frame on an RBI single and put Belhaven in front 2-0.

Belhaven added a run to their lead in the 3rd inning on a sacrifice fly by May Hebert before Allie Gordon drove in another run for the Blazers in the top of the 4th inning. Belhaven would hold on to their 4-0 lead all the eay to the final frame when Huntingdon was able to pull a run back. The Blazers though killed off any potential Hawks' rally though to seal the win and the series split.

The Blazers will now make the trip to Georgia to take on LaGrange College in a CCS doubleheader. First pitch of the first game between the Blazers and Panthers is set for 2:00 PM.
