ATLANTA, Ga. - The Belhaven Tennis teams fell to Oglethorpe University on Monday as they wrapped up a busy few days in the state of Georgia. After both the Men and Women took down LaGrange in conference action the squad traveled to Atlanta where the Women fell 8-1 and the Men were bested 7-2.
WOMEN
The highlight of the day for the Women came from
Asia Robinson who came from behind in her singles match to claim the Blazers' lone win. Robinson dropped her first set 6-1 before storming back in the second set 6-4. She sealed the victory in an intense third set as she outlasted her opposition 10-6.
MEN
On the Men's side of the action, the Blazers were bested in Doubles action but a couple of individuals grabbed Singles wins before all was said and done.
Gaspar Meda took victory in the #1 Singles matchup with a pair of 6-3 set wins.
Mark Matviiev also picked up a Singles win as he came from behind to win across three sets 2-6, 6-2, 10-8.
The Blazers return to action on Saturday, March 18th when they travel to Tennessee to take on Maryville College in more CCS play. The matches are set for 10:00 AM.
