MARYVILLE, Tenn. - The Belhaven Tennis teams split their conference matchup against Maryville on Saturday as the Men took down the Scots 7-2 but the Women were unable to best their opposition falling 7-2.
WOMEN
For the Women,
Judith Mills and
Evey Moore combined to deliver one of the Blazers' wins on the day as they came out on top in their Doubles matchup 8-2. Mills also delivered a Singles win for Belhaven as she took the top matchup in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.Â
MEN
The Men had a bit smoother sailing on Saturday as they took two of the three Doubles matchups with
Gaspar Meda and
Bryce Livingston taking the top matchup 8-3 while
Abraham Gonzalez and
Justin Humphrey won their matchup 8-2.Â
Gaspar Meda picked up a Singles win in the top matchup with a pair of 6-0 set wins while
Abraham Gonzalez also came out on top 6-3, 6-0.
Mark Matviiev also picked up a Singles win 6-4, 6-3 while
Justin Humphrey took his matchup 6-1, 6-2 and
Jason Ball secured a victory 6-3, 6-2.
The Belhaven Men's Tennis team returns to action on Friday as they take on Millsaps before both teams resume conference action at home against Covenant.Â
