JACKSON, Miss. - The No. 6 Belhaven Softball team cruised past Millsaps in both games of a doubleheader at Jim McLeod Field on Saturday. The Blazers run-ruled the Majors in Game 1 10-1 before taking Game 2 in five innings by a score of 11-0.

GAME ONE

Belhaven set the tone early as the leadoff batter Madi Miller came around to score to put the first run on the board. Ellie Jones and Anna McNeer added a pair of two-run shots to put the Blazers up 5-0 in the first.
 
Macy Ziskin scored on an RBI single from May Hebert as Belhaven batted around in the inning while plating six. Millsaps got on the board with a run in the 3rd, but Hebert singled in two in the bottom half to give the Blazers a seven-run cushion.
 
The Blazers added another in the frame to take a 9-1 lead into the 4th before Ziskin drove in Hailey Warren for Belhaven's 10th and final run of the game.
 
Taylor Heaton closed the door in the 5th to give the Blazers a 10-1 run-rule victory. The Blazers improved to 2-1 with the win.

GAME TWO

After a quick 1-2-3 frame from Gracey Baucom, the Blazers picked up where they left off with a six-run bottom of the 1st to take control. RBI doubles from Ellie Jones, Kennedy Carruth, and Macy Ziskin staked the home team to a 5-0 lead before Ziskin came around to score on an RBI single off the bat of Mary Moore Widemire.
 
Sydney Runnels drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the 2nd before Ziskin broke the game wide open with a three-run home run to put the Blazers in front 10-0. Maddie Russell lined an RBI single into center to finish the scoring for Belhaven.
 
Natalie Parker held Millsaps scoreless in the top of the 5th to finish off the Blazers' second run-rule win of the day.
