ATLANTA, Ga. - Three members of the Belhaven Men's Basketball team earned All-Conference recognition in the Collegiate Conference of the South on Thursday.
Jordan Marshall,
Luke Couch and
Judah Jordan all were recognized for their performances on the year, one which saw Belhaven finish second in the CCS regular season standings and advance to a Semifinal match-up against LaGrange on Friday.
Jordan Marshall earned All-CCS First Team recognition in what was his first season with the Blazers after leading Belhaven in scoring during the 2022-23 campaign. Marshall finished the year averaging 19.7 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per contest while playing in every game for the Green & Gold. Marshall shot 47% from the field and 34% from three across 25 games with his career-best scoring performance coming in the Blazers' November 19th win over Spalding in which he had 40 points.
Luke Couch joins Marshall on the All-CCS First Team, earning his fourth All-Conference nod with the previous three coming in the American Southwest Conference. Couch finished the year averaging 17.2 points per game across 16 starts while pulling down 4.3 rebounds per contest for the Blazers. In his fourth year at Belhaven, Couch shot a stellar 45.9% from three and 48.8% from the field while leading the team at the free throw line with a sparkling 87.2% clip.
Judah Jordan rounds out the Blazers' trio recognized by the conference as he was named to the All-CCS Second Team as well as the All-CCS Sportsmanship Team. Jordan finished third on the Blazers in scoring, averaging 11.6 points per game and led Belhaven in total minutes on the year with 814 across 25 games played. A do-it-all guard, Jordan averaged 4.6 rebounds per game and led the Blazers in assists with 78 (3.1 per game) while providing 32 total steals on defense.
The Blazers continue their 2022-23 season on Friday, February 24th when they face off against LaGrange College in the Semifinal Round of the CCS Tournament. The game will be hosted in Maryville, Tennessee and tipoff is set for 4:00 PM Central.Â
