ST LOUIS, Mo.- The Belhaven Women's Basketball team came up short in the final day of the Webster Invitational against the Milwaukee School of Engineering 79-50.
The first quarter for the Blazers started out slow with the Raiders jumping out to a 13-2 run to begin. Belhaven fought back and ended the first quarter trailing 18-13. Belhaven struggled to find their mark shooting in the second quarter as they went into halftime down 36-21.
The Blazers' shooting struggles continued in the third quarter as the Raiders pushed their lead to 28 on an 18-5 run to open up the half. Belhaven continued to struggle for the rest of the game and would go on to drop the final game of the Webster Invitational 79-50.
Allaijah Gamble led the Blazers today with nine points, two rebounds, and two assists as she shot three for six from the field. Newcomer
Calise Jackson also played well for the Blazers posting eight points and nine rebounds on three for eight shooting.
The Blazers will look to bounce back on Wednesday, November 15 as they play at Millsaps in the annual Riverside Rumble. Tip-off will begin at 5:30 PM.
