JACKSON, Miss. - Kyla Shaw of the Belhaven Women's Soccer team and Courtland Williams of the Belhaven Men's Soccer team have been named the C Spire Athletes of the Week for their performances in CCS tournament wins for their respective programs over the past week.

Kyla Shaw led the Blazers through the Quarterfinals of the CCS Women's Soccer Championship Tournament as she tallied a first half hat-trick in Belhaven's 5-0 win over Berea. The Blazers, who are the second seed in the tournament, scored five goals inside the first half hour of play against the Mountaineers and Shaw tallied all three of her goals inside 20 minutes. Shaw opened the scoring with an edge of the box goal in the third minute before tallying against just six minutes later. Shaw's third came in the 20th minute as she moves her season goal count to nine.

Courtland Williams helped Belhaven to the Championship match in the CCS Tournament by scoring in each of the Blazers tournament matches over the past week. Williams scored the opening goal in Belhaven's 2-0 victory over Huntingdon a week ago before notching two goals in the Blazers' 3-2 semifinal win over Maryville. Williams scored Belhaven's second goal against the Scots to make it 2-1 in the 47th minute before grabbing a late winner in the 84th minute of a 2-2 match. Williams is up to seven goals on the season, six of which have come in Belhaven's four most recent matches.

Shaw and the Blazers will look to punch their ticket to the CCS Tournament Championship on Wednesday as they host Covenant in a semfinal matchup. Kickoff against the Scots is set for 6:00 PM.

Williams and the Belhaven Men's team will travel to Covenant on Saturday, November 4th as they look to take home the CCS Tournament Championship. Kickoff in Georgia is set for 1:00 PM Central time.
