JACKSON, Miss.- The Belhaven Men's Soccer team advanced to the CCS Semifinals after a dominating 2-0 win over Huntingdon.
The opening minutes of the game were quiet with no team firing a shot on goal. The Blazers got on the board in the 28th minute as
Courtland Williams converted for his fifth goal of the season on an assist by Khoby Rhone. Belhaven dominated on the defensive side of the pitch in the first half as they continued to hold Huntingdon to no shots on goal. The Blazers closed the half with a 1-0 lead, and plenty of momentum on their side.
The second half was more of the same for Belhaven as they continued to slow down the Hawks offense.
Wesley Bloodworth added his fourth goal of the season in the 59th minute to help Belhaven jump out to a 2-0 lead. Belhaven continued to show their defensive prowess for the rest of the match and would get the clean sheet as well as allowing no shots on goal.
Belhaven will look for a berth in the CCS Championship as they face the Maryville Scots in the semifinals Saturday, October 28th. Match time is set at 4:30 PM.
