JACKSON, Miss. - Lylo Johnson of the Belhaven Women's Cross Country team and Cornelius Clay of the Belhaven Football team took home C Spire Athletes of the Week for their respected performances from this past week. 

Lylo Johnson had an impressive showing at the MC Watson Invitational, which was hosted by Mississippi College and feautured several Division I and II schools. Johnson finished with a time of 28:08.40 to lead the Blazers on the day. 

Cornelius Clay helped lead the Blazers to a dominating 42-20 victory over LaGrange this past weekend. The sophomore finished the game with a tackle, two pass breakups and recorded his first career interception to add to the multiple turnovers that the Blazers forced. 

Johnson and the Blazers will look to make a run in the CCS Cross Country Championships Saturday, October 28th in Demorest, Georgia. The meet will begin at 10:00 AM. 

Clay and the Blazers will look to keep their undefeated streak alive as they face Methodist on Homecoming weekend Saturday, October 21. Kickoff will begin at 12:00 PM.
