Belhaven University Announces Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022

JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven University is pleased to announce the Belhaven Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022. The class of 2022 includes two teams, four athletes, two head coaches and a president, all of whom will be formally inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame as part of Homecoming activities on Saturday, October 22, 2022.

The Belhaven Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022 is as follows (listed alphabetically):

2012 Men's Soccer Team - 2012 NAIA National Champions 

1982 Men's Soccer Team - 1982 NAIA National Tournament 3rd Place Finish 

Peter Fuller, Men's Soccer Head Coach - Head Coach from 1991-93, during which time his 1992 team claimed the NAIA National Championship with a 2-1 decision versus Lynn University; Coach Fuller posted the highest win percentage in program history (.836)

Johnnie Horne, Football - Record-setting Running Back who posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 1998-1999; He ranks 1st all-time in 100+ yard rushing games (14), 2nd all-time in career rushing yards (2,162), and 5th all-time in career rushing TDs (14) 

Brian McMahon, Men's Soccer Head Coach - Head Coach from 2012-2013, during which time his 2012 team claimed the NAIA National Championship with a 2-0 decision over the University of Mobile; Coach McMahon ranks 4th in program win percentage (.750) 

Dr. Roger Parrott, President - Responsible for starting seven new intercollegiate sports, including football, building new facilities for soccer, football, strength training, and track & field, as well as adding two undergraduate sports-related academic majors – sports medicine and exercise science, sports administration – plus a Masters of Sports Administration graduate degree

Mallory Meadows Radwitch, Softball - Member of Belhaven Softball program who was named an NAIA First Team All-American and NFCA First Team All-American in 2008 and 2009; She ranks 1st all-time in home runs (33), 1st all-time in slugging percentage (.835), 2nd all-time in batting average (.451) and is top-10 among career leaders in RBI, hits, and on-base percentage 

Britney Webb Shaw, Softball - Member of Belhaven Softball who was twice named an NAIA All-American in 2007 and 2010 as well as being named an NFCA All-American in 2007, 2009 and 2010; Belhaven's all-time leader in hits (285), runs scored (233), stolen bases (213), and triples (27) while also ranking among leaders in batting average, RBIs, doubles, and games played 

Brian Zbydniewski, Football - Record-setting Quarterback in 2003-2004, during which time he was named a 2003 NAIA All American while throwing for a program-record 3,888 yards; He finished his career as the program's leader in 1st in 300-yard games (16), 3rd in total yards (6,531), 3rd in total touchdown passes (42), and 4th in completions (225) 

The seven individuals and two teams who compose the 2022 class were selected based on input from university alumni, current and former coaches, and administrators.

Nominations for future Hall of Fame classes will begin July 1, 2023. Details will be available beginning June 20, 2023, online at blazers.belhaven.edu.
