JACKSON, Miss. – Lauren Snell of the Belhaven Women's Soccer team and
Max Rudolph of the Belhaven Men's Soccer team have been named the C Spire Athletes of the Week following their performances over the past week.
Snell scored the eventual game-winner in Saturday's 1-0 win over Piedmont. Her 59th-minute score was the first of her career in the Green and Gold. The Ballwin, Mo. native also played a key role defensively in shutting out the Lions.
Rudolph continued his stellar season in goal for Belhaven. The Blazers' goalkeeper came up with 12 saves over the past week, including seven in Friday's 3-1 win over Ozarks. His save on an Eagle penalty kick in the 79th minute preserved the lead for the Blazers, who were able to secure the win with an insurance goal just three minutes later.
Snell and the Blazers return to play Wednesday, September 28th against Hendrix College. The game is set for 4 PM.
Rudolph and the rest of the Men's Soccer team travel to Hendrix College on Wednesday, September 28th. Kickoff is slated for 5 PM.
