SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Belhaven Men's Soccer team suffered just their second defeat of the season on Saturday as they were beaten on the road at Sewanee.
Belhaven held steady in the first half as they took on the Tigers with both teams seeing limited opportunities and neither team finding the net. Shots were 6-4 in favor of the hosts at the break with
Kagoma Egide forcing the Tigers' keeper into their only save of the half.
In the second half the hosts found the momentum generating early chances including one that produced the opening goal less than four minutes into the second half. Belhaven continued to chase an equalizer but the pressure from Sewanee generated a second goal in the 77th minute and created the final scoreline.Â
Max Rudolph finished with seven saves in the match while
Kagoma Egide and
Igor Rudolph produced Belhaven's two shots on target.
Belhaven will now turn its attention to the University of the Ozarks who they host next Friday, September 23rd at 7:30 PM.
