BOSSIER CITY, La. - The Belhaven Golf team ended the Hal Sutton Invitational on Tuesday, placing 9th among competing teams, after the second day was cut short due to weather in the order.
The Blazers were led by
Luke Couch who finished t-6th over the 27 hole competition, landing his first top 10 finish of the spring. Couch card a 113 (+5) overall after finishing t-1st with a 74 (+2) following the opening round. Couch was impressive on Par 4 holes where he finished +2 overall with a stroke average of 4.13 which was joint-second best among all golfers.
The Junior was also among the leaders on Par 3 holes with a stroke average of 3.17 which led the Blazers team. The Vestavia Hills native also led Belhaven with three birdies across the competition and also topped the Blazers with 18 pars, the third most overall.
Will Justice finished the Hal Sutton Invitational t-32nd with a score of 124 (+16) across the two days. Justice saw success on Par 5 holes where he finished just +1 overall with a stroke average of 5.17 which was among the tournament's leaders. Justice also racked up 16 pars which trailed only
Luke Couch among Belhaven golfers and was among the leaders overall.
Crue Baldwin ended the two days t-40th with a 128 (+20) while
Ashton Anderson carded a 133 (+25) placing 46th. Anderson posted a pair of birdies across the 27 holes and joined Justice with a +1 performance on Par 5 holes.
The Blazers will return to competition on April 3rd and 4th when they travel to Millington, Tennessee for the Rhodes Spring Collegiate.
