MARSHALL, Texas - The Belhaven baseball team fell in both ends of a doubleheader at East Texas Baptist University. The Blazers dropped the first game by a final score of 1-0 and the second game by a 9-3 final score.  
 
GAME ONE 
 
In the first game of the doubleheader, the Tigers jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the second inning. Belhaven got the first and only hit of the contest in the bottom of the third after Caleb Whittle hit a single. The Tigers did not capitalize in the bottom half of the inning. Neither team got a hit nor a run for the rest of the contest as ETBU defeated Belhaven 1-0 in seven innings.  
 
In the first game, the Blazers were led by Caleb Whittle who finished 1-for-3 from the plate. Harris Coleman took the loss on the mound as the Blazers fell to 0-2 on the season. The Blazers starter went six innings and allowed only one run on two hits. The Blazers will look to rebound in game three of the series.  
 
GAME TWO 
 
In the second game of the doubleheader, the hosts took the lead in the bottom of the first inning and added five runs in the second to lead 6-0 after two innings. Belhaven would scratch a run back in the top of the fourth inning as Dawson Albin hit an RBI-single to score Caleb Whittle. ETBU scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Blazers scored two runs in the top of the fifth to make the score 8-3. The Tigers added another run in the bottom of the eight to take the series 3-0 and the game 9-3. 

Caleb Whittle led the Blazers with one hit and 2 RBI, while Dawson Albin had the other RBI in the contest. Additionally, Nathan Herron finished the game with a hit and a walk.  
 
The Blazers will look to bounce back on Friday against the LeTourneau University Yellowjackets. Belhaven has moved the series to Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss and the first pitch on February 18 is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
