JACKSON, Miss. – Jeslian Vazquez of the Belhaven Volleyball team and Connor Fordham of the Belhaven Football team have been named the C Spire Athletes of the Week following their performances over the past week.
 
Vazquez played a key role in Saturday's win over Agnes Scott, finishing with nine kills and six digs to lead the way. Over the past week, the freshman collected 15 kills and 17 digs for the Green and Gold.
 
Fordham was a force in the middle of the Blazers' defense on Saturday, leading the team in tackles with eight. The senior linebacker also came up with a sack and a blocked punt in the 34-27 win over Methodist.
 
Vazquez and the rest of the Volleyball team will travel to Macon, Georgia to take on Wesleyan College and Covenant College on Saturday, October 8th. The matches are slated to start at 11 AM and 1 PM.
 
Fordham and the Blazers return to the Bowl this Saturday, October 8th to host North Carolina Wesleyan in USA South play. Kickoff is set for 12 PM.
