VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – The Belhaven Women's Soccer team fell 1-0 to Sewanee in a neutral site match in Vestavia Hills, Ala in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers scored the lone goal of the match in the 2
nd minute to take the early 1-0 advantage over the Blazers. Belhaven and Sewanee had opportunities to score late in the first half, but the score remained 1-0 after 45 minutes of play.
Coming out of the halftime break, the Blazers and Tigers exchanged possessions for the rest of the contest as Sewanee picked up the 1-0 win over the Blazers.
Goalkeeper
Julianne Wilson made seven saves in the match while
Kyla Shaw led the Blazers with two shot attempts.
With the loss, Belhaven falls to 4-5-2 overall on the season and maintains a 2-1 record in CCS play.
The Blazers will return to action on Saturday, October 8th against LaGrange College inside the Belhaven Bowl Stadium in Collegiate College of the South action. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
