JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University volleyball team played host to the Sul Ross State University Lobos on Friday, September 17, in American Southwest Conference play, and the Lobos left with a three sets to none (25-16, 25-14, 25-15) victory over the Blazers.
Freshman Sara Scott led the Blazers in kills during the match with nine. Sophomore Caitlin Torok also had four kills, while senior Emily Carroll had three. Senior Grace Eidson led the team in assists with seven, was second in digs with eight, and second on the team with one ace. Carroll led the team with two aces and was third in digs with five, while senior Kristin Fogan led the team with 10.
Emily Carroll, Sara Scott, and Ellie Jones all had two blocks during the match; however, the Blazers fall to 2-8 on the season and will return to action at home against Howard Payne University on Saturday, September 18. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
