JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Men's Soccer team picked up an important ASC victory on Tuesday knocking off the ETBU Tigers inside Belhaven Bowl Stadium by a scoreline of 2-0.
The Blazers got their first chance of the match early on when
Brendan Koehn attempted a shot from outside the box that went just wide of the target inside 30 seconds. For much of the first half, Belhaven had the better scoring chances and after a series of strong scoring chances, Belhaven broke the deadlock.
Adrian Eaglin was able to track down a long ball in the ETBU 18-yard box and played a pass centrally to
Jacob Requilman who slotted in the opener, his first career goal.
Just over five minutes into the second half,
Dalton Morgan doubled the Blazers' lead after a crossfield switch into the box from
Lex Rogers set the Belhaven winger up to cut back on his right foot and send a shot into the net for his second goal of the season.
Belhaven dominated the proceedings after the second goal and for the final 20 minutes, played a man up, after ETBU had a player shown a straight red card.
In the game, Belhaven outshot ETBU 22-6 and the Blazers finished with nine shots on target to the Tigers two.
The Blazers improve to 3-3 on the season and 3-3 in ASC play. Belhaven finishes their regular season on Friday night against UT Dallas inside Belhaven Bowl Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM.
