Box Score 2 PINEVILLE, La. - The Belhaven volleyball team picked up a two match sweep over Louisiana College on Tuesday taking both ends of a doubleheader three sets to one. The wins make it three victories in four matches for the Blazers as they enter the final stretch of their 2021 season.
MATCH ONE 
The Blazers fell behind early in the first match against the Wildcats dropping the opening set 25-23. Belhaven would bounce back though to even the match up in the second set and take an advantage after a stellar third set which the Blazers won 25-11 over the hosts. Belhaven finished off the win with a 25-18 victory over Louisiana College in the fourth and final set. 
In the first match the Blazers were led by 
Chelsea Creighton who finished with 13 kills, tied for a match high. Creighton's 13 kills are a single match career high in her three seasons with the Blazers. 
Emily Carroll and 
Izabella Erickson each posted seven kills in the first match as well. 
Grace Eidson led all players with 24 assists while 
Sydney McEachern finished with a match high 19 digs. 
MATCH TWO
Looking for the doubleheader sweep, the Blazers took an early lead on Louisiana College in the second match winning the first set 25-21. The hosts hit back in the second set winning 27-25 in  a back and forth affair. After evening up at a set apiece, the Blazers made quick work of the Wildcats in the final two sets winning them 25-13 and 25-18 respectively. 
Vivien Marquez set a new single-match season-high in kills with 15, a mark that led all players in the second match. Marquez also finished the match with six aces for the Blazers. 
Grace Eidson set a new career-high in assists in the second match with 26 eclipsing her previous high of 25 set in 2018 against ETBU.
Sydney McEachern once again led all players in digs, finishing with 34 in the match, a new season-high for the Keller, Texas native.
The Blazers return to action on Wednesday, March 17th against #6 UT Dallas. The first match is set for 1 PM.
