JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Women's Basketball team knocked off the Louisiana College Wildcats on Thursday by a final score of 82-75 inside Rugg Arena.

In a back and forth game that featured 18 lead changes and was tied at 10 different points, the Blazers' late run helped them put distance between themselves and the visitors. Belhaven took the lead early between a game of small runs saw the Wildcats take the lead. Louisiana College led at the end of the first quarter 20-17 and would hold their advantage for the duration of the second quarter, extending their lead to 39-34 at the half. 

A run to open the second half closed the gap for the Blazers and they took a one-point lead into the final period. The two squads traded leads in the fourth quarter before Belhaven took an 8-0 in the final minutes to secure the win. 

The leading scorer in the game was the Wildcats' Alex AHarrison who finished with 31 points on 9-23 shooting from the field and 4-10 shooting from behind the arc. 

The Blazers were led by Destiney Johnson who shot 6-12 from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line on her way to an 18 point game. Johnson added 14 rebounds pulling in the game's only double-double. Ladedra Bryant finished with 13 points while Janae Collier, Kortne Lee and Mariah Collins all finished with 11 points on the day. 

Belhaven returns to the court on Saturday when they host the Mississippi University for Women. The game is set for 3:30 PM and will also be Senoir Day for the team.
