JACKSON, Miss. - Donovan Givens of the Belhaven Men's Basketball team has been named CSpire Athlete of the Week following his performances on the court this past week. The Blazers went 2-0 on the week with wins against Howard Payne University and Sul Ross State University. 

Givens registered 16.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 60% (12-for-20) from the field. Additionally, the Jackson, Miss. native went 5-for-10 from behind the arc on the week and grabbed seven rounds in the two wins. Givens was perfect from the charity stripe, posted a block, and had two steals to close out his week.

On the season, Givens has played and started in all nine games for the Blazers and averaged 29.2 minutes per game. The sophomore also averages 12.2 points per contest and is shooting 42.2 percent from long range. 

The Blazers will take a break for Christmas and then return to the court for an exhibition contest with the University of New Orleans Privateers. The game will be streamed via ESPN+ and will begin at approximately 1:00 p.m.
